Pecel is an Indonesian sauce based on chillies, peanuts, tamarind and coconut sugar. It is commonly served over boiled vegetables. It is similar to the sauce used in Gado-gado. In Malaysia, it is called as Pecal[1] and also an influence from theJavanese in the country.
Nasi pecel is a Javanese rice dish served with pecel (cooked vegetables and peanut sauce).[1] The vegetables are usually kangkung or water spinach, long beans, cassava leaves, papaya leaves, and in East Java often used kembang turi. It tastes best when eaten with fried tempeh and traditional cracker called peyek. It is popular in East and Central Java.
Pecel merupakan salah satu warisan kuliner Indonesia, khususnya seni kuliner Jawa yang berbahan dasar sayur-sayuran rebus yang dihidangkan dengan bumbu kacang. Hidangan pecel dapat dikategorikan sebagai hidangan salad tradisional Jawa dengan bumbu kacang.[1] Makanan ini juga mirip dengan gado-gado, walau ada perbedaan dalam bahan-bahan yang digunakan.
